Circle In Coding Test

CI-Landscape-Gradient

A social media influencer has just hired you to build an application that will crawl the web to determine how many times they are mentioned.

To start with, you want to evaluate the effort required by building a small app which checks this for a single given url.

Using Java or Kotlin (or similar language), write a backend service that takes a word and a URL as input, then displays the number of times that word exists in the given URL page.

Please keep in mind the following:

  • Provide code that you deem as “production quality”
  • Include any tests or follow TDD if appropriate
  • Create a lightweight UI using React, Angular, or Vue.js that uses the service to display the results.
  • Demonstrate how you use Git to manage your code, and ensure you submit the full git repository
  • Don’t spend too long on the test, short-cuts are fine, just ensure you use comments to document your thinking
  • Most importantly, have fun!

Email the code as a zipped up git repository to ben@circlein.com (feel free to email any questions through as well)

Good luck!
