Circle In is thrilled to announce our partnership with Kmart Group (Kmart Australia, Target Australia and Catch). For Kmart, family is at the center of everything they do and they chose to partner with Circle In to support both current and future working parents and caregivers.
Here are some highlights from a recent chat between our co-founder, Jodi Geddes, and Tristram Gray, Chief People & Capability Officer at Kmart Group. We look forward to sharing our chats with the teams at Target and Catch in the coming weeks.
Why was it important for you to invest in a program such as Circle In?
Here at Kmart Group, families are at the center of everything we do, whether that’s our team members, our customers, our customer value proposition, or the communities we work in. We wanted to make sure that we’re there to support all our team members, as they may be going on a journey, starting a family, they may be already a working parent, or providing care to somebody else. And we felt that Circle In was a great way to help support our team.
What problem is Circle In solving for Kmart?
There are a couple of problems that Circle In will solve. We’ve got a tremendously diverse workforce, and we operate across Australia and New Zealand. So many of our people have very different needs. And I think Circle In addresses that by being relevant and resonating with a variety of people from different backgrounds, or different challenges they might be facing, with different questions they might have. And Circle In brings all the resources together into one spot and enables team members to choose what is relevant for them. We felt it was a very flexible offering while also being very comprehensive.
Yeah, that’s great to hear, and it’s something we are proud of that we support all life stages. From planning a baby right through to life as a working parent. And then, more broadly, caregivers. Up to 90% of Kmart Group will now find value in the platform, which is very exciting.
What are you most excited about the platform and the partnership with Circle In?
From our perspective, the ability for it to be digital and online and people to choose things, I think that’s fantastic. The other piece is that we haven’t had anything like this before. This is one way of truly being able to say to our people that we value you, not just as a team member, or the work you do every day. But we understand you’ve got a family, and you’ve got other responsibilities, particularly caregiving responsibilities in your life. How do we help take care of you and demonstrate in a practical and tangible way, that we value you and can provide you with some support and resources to help you do what you need to do in the other parts of your life.
What does success look like for you in supporting your families and caregivers?
I think, for us, it’s about that our team members feel supported, have resources that they can utilize, and feel they can add practical value to their lives and help them in, as we said before, each of the stages, not just one. It’s not just about new parents, it’s not just about existing parents, and it’s not just about people providing care to other significant individuals in their family and life. It’s about moving through those different elements and having an easily accessible tool with which they can do that and access it across various areas, as we’ve got team members in retail stores, team members in distribution centers, and our national office. Circle In is flexible enough that it can cover all of that. Being able to satisfy all those elements is a challenging task, but we think Circle In’s got all the products and services we need to be able to do that.
We are proud to welcome Kmart to our Circle and look forward to supporting their people in all of the moments that matter.
